WASHINGTON—The U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association hosted a meeting June 5-6, attended by the chief executives of major regional tire manufacturing associations, to discuss global issues affecting the tire industry.
Besides the USTMA, chief executives of the Tire and Rubber Association of Canada, the Japan Automobile Tyre Manufacturers Association, the European Tyre & Rubber Manufacturers' Association and the Korean Tire Manufacturers Association attended the two-day conference.
Topics discussed at the meeting included industry commitments in sustainability and environmental stewardship, the global regulatory landscape and a platform for increased dialogue between regional associations, according to a USTMA press release issued June 6.
"Engaging in a global dialogue around existing and emerging issues and developing a shared vision for growth and sustainability is important to advancing our mutual commitment to ensuring the tire manufacturing industry's positive societal impacts," the USTMA said.
