In conjunction with the Thai Rubber Association (TRA) Dinner that was held on 12th May 2017, the ASEAN Rubber Business Council (ARBC) had organized two meetings on 13th May 2017: 18th Meeting of the Economics and Statistics Committee and 18th Meeting of the Technical Committee on Contract Matters (TCCM) at Centara Grand at Central World, Bangkok, Thailand. The MRE is the permanent Secretariat of ARBC.
Hosted by TRA, both meetings were attended by representatives from association members of ARBC such as The Association for Rubber Development of Cambodia (ARDC), Rubber Association of Indonesia (GAPKINDO), Malaysian Rubber Exchange (MRE)/Federation of the Rubber Trade Associations of Malaysia (FRTAM), Rubber Trade Association of Singapore (RTAS) and TRA.
The meetings helped provide a platform for members to discuss and share information of mutual interest and concern, especially those pertaining to trade matters. Among the important matters discussed in the ARBC meetings were issues related to contract terms, trade disputes, natural rubber (NR) statistics, prices and market outlook.
